A rent collection and tenant management platform for small landlords managing 2–20 units. Built to replace WhatsApp and Excel with a transparent, audit-ready digital system.

The Challenge
Small landlords in emerging markets manage rental businesses entirely through informal channels, i.e.: WhatsApp messages, handwritten receipts, and memory. When payment disputes arise, there is no audit trail. Tenants have no formal record of their contributions, and landlords spend significant time manually chasing dues every month cycle.
The Solution
Built a multi-party web application where landlords manage properties, units, and tenants while tenants have a read-only portal showing their own payment history and receipts. Every payment is immutable, corrections are recorded as new entries, not overwrites, creating a complete financial audit trail. Automated reminders notify tenants before and after due dates without the landlord lifting a finger.
The Outcome
A fully deployed platform covering the complete rental management lifecycle, from unit creation and tenant onboarding through to payment recording, receipt generation, late payment flagging, and M-Pesa STK push integration for direct mobile payments. The roadmap extends to maintenance requests, digital lease management, expense tracking, and analytics.
